It’s so easy being Green

29 Jan

Happy Weekend Peabody,

So has anyone seen those giant posters around campus that look like an american flag made of recycled materials?  Well if you haven’t, no worries that’s why you have me! Well, they are for RECYCLEMANIA, a (fierce) competition between schools in the area to see who can waste less and recycle more.  The competition starts February 5 and continues until March 31st.  Its so easy all you have to do is recycle! Temple is clearly the best at everything else so this competition should be easy, right? The kickoff for Recyclemania is February 1st at the men’s basketball game where they will be giving away all kinds of free swag as well as doing recycling promotions.  Other Events for recycle mania include:

Valentines Day Crafternoon
February 8, 7:00pm – 8:00pm
Tuttleman Hall Lobby

Students for Environmental Action will be hosting a Valentine’s Day crafting session, using all recycled materials. Learn how to make a “box of kisses” and other fun gifts. This session will be hands on, so come with that special someone in mind. Crafting materials will be provided. Inspiration required.

Artist Talk: Recycled Artist In Residency (RAIR)
February 23, 12:00pm – 1:00pm
Tyler School of Art, Room B-04

Fern Gookin and Billy Dufala from the Recycled Artist in Residency (RAIR) will be discussing their work with RAIR in promoting connections between sustainability and art.

Remember, Green is sexy.  (or it’s the new black I can’t remember which)
